![]() The enemy boarding party also have the same habit of teleporting out when low on health, well they aren't going anywhere now! Keep that in mind if the enemy has a cloak btw Ps: If you are wondering why I cloak at weird times, the answer is simple: People can't be teleported in or out while cloaking is active, same goes for a zoltan supershield. Most early game ships have a 2-3 person crew.Ģ) You're pretty set for survivability for the 1st few sectors, a lvl 2 shield and a defense drone is a very good defense.ģ) Your teleporter is your best weapon, upgrade it to lvl 2 fast and you can even board AI ships (it's a close call but possible)Ĥ) As far a weapons go: A small bomb or breach bomb will definitely help to take on the more difficult ships and at laser weapon or beam can help you to take out the AI without having to sacrifice crew or using a boarding drone. Make sure to get at least a pilot first though. Fighting in a different room and damage shields with your weapons will almost always make it so that the enemy splits up, leaving part of the crew to fight you and part of the crew to go fix the shields.ġ) You have a 4 slot teleporter available (only the Carnelian has one aswell) so use it! Get a 4 crew boarding party. Fighting in any other room can make it so that the pilot leaves the bridge, therefore they can't jump potentially saving your crew.ĥ)Creating a diversion can pull the odds in your favor: The enemy crew (for some reason) is obsessed with keeping their shields up. you should be able to kill them if your boarding party is strong enough (mantis will definitly work).Ĥ) Boarding in the pilot room can cost you dearly if the ship decides to make a run for it. If it's only a lvl 1 medbay (lvl 3 sensors to confirm) you can hurt the enemy crew and when they make a run for it, follow them in. Other ways to deal with a medbay is to tank it out. It's also best to board in said destroyed medbay to prevent them from fixing it. Then attack the strongest one first (mantis,rock/crystal,human/slug,zoltan,engi in that order) there is a good chance that no one will come and help him giving you an easy 2v1 (or 4v1) fight to start of with.ģ) Dealing with medbays: Medbays are a pain when boarding, enemy crew will run to it when they are at low health and it's available (there is room and it's working) so dealing with a medbay before boarding is always a good tactic. ![]() If not point 2 becomes importantĢ) When dealing with crew from diffrent races e.g a mantis and an engi, wait for their crew to get comfy in their own systems. If it has all of the same race of crew this doesn't really mather. If you can see what type of crew you are up against it makes it easier to pick a room to board into. But how to board giving you best chance at success? Well here's what I've learned.ġ) Lvl 2 sensors are a must ! Seeing what you are up against before you put your crew in danger is very important. Seeing that you have no weapons it kind off makes sense. ![]()
